Stay at the Colombier Vert

Come and recharge your batteries on the grounds of the former Château de Champlay , in the Yonne department . Less than two hours from Paris, between Sens and Auxerre, the Colombier Vert is a haven of peace on the edge of a small Burgundy village.

Formerly a farmhouse of a now-defunct castle , the estate belongs to Régis and Véronique. Lovers of heritage and gardens, they are committed to restoring the buildings while respecting their history , ecology and the environment.

The cottage

The old bakehouse has become a pretty, comfortable and cozy gîte, whose windows open onto the 17th century dovecote.
Ideal for a quiet stay as a couple, it has a spacious living room on the ground floor and upstairs, a bedroom with a large double bed . A separate space with a single bed can accommodate a child or a friend.

The natural and contemporary decoration brings a relaxing touch to the place.
You will find a fully equipped kitchen and a lounge area with comfortable armchairs around the wood-burning stove.

The lawn in front of the cottage allows you to enjoy the view of the dovecote and the barns with their magnificent architecture.
A few meters away, a contemporary garden , created and cultivated with respect for biodiversity , invites you to stroll through the vegetable garden, natural meadows and medicinal plants .

Véronique offers you her shop of herbal teas and salts, made with plants from the garden and grown naturally.

Enjoy a peaceful stay, a perfect stay for a vacation, a weekend or remote working in the countryside.

You will be Welcomed by Nathalie Cadet, from the Conciergerie de l'Yonne : she will offer you her advice for exploring the region.

Strong ecological commitments

Sensitive to ecology and nature , we were particularly demanding in the choice of materials to restore the buildings of the Colombier vert. The materials used respect the environment : ecological paints, earth or natural lime plasters, French wood, ecological hard oil, bamboo flooring, reclaimed floor tiles ... You will discover them in the cottage and we will be delighted to explain our technical choices to you.

For the garden we wanted to promote biodiversity, the garden is therefore maintained without any non-organic chemical products. It is welcoming to small local fauna, you will be able to observe the bees and many pollinators on our honey plants , you will admire the birds who nest in our walls, and if you are lucky, you will see at night the pair of barn owls who live in the dovecote.

For example, we collect our rainwater to water the garden, we only use local wood for our work, we favor the purchase of second-hand furniture or decorations, household products are refillable , we use washable sponges ...

We continue to act for the ecological transition by gradually changing our habits in order to be more consistent every day.

Come for an internship

Véronique is passionate about plants , particularly aromatic ones. She is a certified herbalist and regularly organizes short workshops lasting one afternoon or weekend courses .

To combine your stay with one of our courses, check the planned dates in our section News or on our social networks (Facebook or Instagram).

You can also subscribe to our newsletter to be informed of the dates of events with us.

Flexibility possible on departure or arrival times

If you wish to arrive before 4 p.m. or leave after 11 a.m. , do not hesitate, we are attentive to your special requests. Nathalie will check if this is possible , depending on the guests who precede or follow you; and the availability of the person in charge of cleaning.

We do not charge extra for this service and are committed to ensuring you enjoy your stay to the fullest. Régis and Véronique
